Building climate resilience with farmers in Northwest and Vhembe

Learning from each other to overcome food insecurity
We recently hosted a learning journey in Sedibeng District to interact with local food system actors including farmers, community organisations, government officials and the private sector to see what others are trying; what is working; what the challenges are, and how others are overcoming common challenges.
African CSOs Stage No to Fossil Fuels Action, Reject Net Zero
Civil society and grassroots groups across Africa staged a sit-in and protest action at the exhibition centre of the UNFCCC COP 26 in Glasgow to demand that African delegates attending the negotiations reject handouts and instead advance real solutions to the climate crisis.
A note from Leadership
In a few days’ global leader’s scientists and climate activists will be gathering in Glasgow for COP 26 Climate Change Negotiations. This meeting is coming at a time when the world and the communities we work with in rural and urban communities of the North west Province, Gauteng and in Vhembe District, Thohoyandou are starting to recover from the pandemic, in addition to numerous extreme
weather events.
Just Transition
Climate change is one of the seminal issues that is currently facing all of us globally. A shift from fossil fuels, to cleaner and sustainable renewable energy sources that are energy efficient and accessible as well as affordable for the people are extremely important factors to consider when determining the essential building blocks toward incorporating the ‘Just Transition” principles in national energy policy.
